The design brief requested that the roof structures should resemble to the shape of rhino horns. Responsible for the roof structures and thatching, JNA THATCHERS enjoyed the design challenge of this project.
Construction: JNA Thatchers

JNA's Timber division crafted this elevated wooden walkway using sustainable materials designed to withstand harsh Kalahari conditions. The natural timber railings follow the rugged terrain contours, demonstrating how traditional craftsmanship adapts to challenging environments. Each plank placement considers both structural integrity and aesthetic harmony with the surrounding landscape.
JNA Thatchers transformed an ambitious architectural vision into reality with these distinctive conical thatch roofs that mirror rhino horn silhouettes. The thatching construction required specialised techniques to achieve the steep angles while maintaining weatherproofing standards. Premium grass materials create durable coverings that blend seamlessly with the natural environment, showcasing four decades of thatching expertise.

The finished Kalahari Oryx project demonstrates JNA Group's ability to coordinate multiple divisions for complex builds. Thatch roofing services dominate the skyline with multiple conical structures, while timber elements provide structural support and decorative accents. This South African thatching project exemplifies how traditional materials create modern luxury accommodations that respect environmental sensitivity while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
