Nestled in the pristine natural beauty of Pringle Bay, the TinTin Cabin is a testament to vision, design, and collaboration. Crafted by JNA Group in partnership with Mobile Maisonette and the imaginative owners, Nathalie Ammann and John Blignaut, this coastal retreat has become a cherished escape for their family—and an inspiration for anyone dreaming of the perfect custom holiday home.

A Love Affair with Pringle Bay

Owner’s, Nathalie and John’s connection to the Overberg coastline began in their teenage years, surfing its waves and exploring its shores. As life became busier, the couple returned to this tranquil area for quiet holidays. The picturesque hamlet of Pringle Bay—just over an hour from Cape Town—offered the ideal setting for their dream small home. Surrounded by indigenous fynbos landscaping and near a pristine beach, it promised unforgettable memories for their daughter, Amelia.

The Journey to TinTin Cabin

With a modest budget and a passion for sustainable tiny home living, Nathalie and John entrusted architect Jed Kritzinger of Mobile Maisonette to design their dream cabin. Opting for the adaptable Farmhouse Cabin design, they collaborated on modifications to align with their personal aesthetic. The result is a harmonious blend of thoughtful design and bold, creative touches.

Construction began in August 2022, with JNA Group delivering expert craftsmanship and professionalism throughout the process. By mid-December, the cabin stood complete—a seamless fusion of modern architecture and the timeless beauty of its surroundings.

A Bold and Colourful Interior 

Nathalie and John infused the cabin’s interiors with colours inspired by the ocean and surrounding fynbos. Misty greens and peachy corals create a contemporary yet tranquil atmosphere, echoing the interplay of land and sea. Each detail—from bold colour choices to the open, airy layout—reflects their love for nature and desire to create a warm, welcoming sanctuary.

Living Among the Fynbos

Situated on a generous 913m² plot, TinTin Cabin is enveloped by an evolving indigenous garden. Nathalie and John have planted keurbooms, camphor bushes, leucadendrons, and wild olives, creating both privacy and a seamless connection to the natural landscape. Meandering footpaths weave through the garden—one leading to the beach and another to a climbing tree lovingly shaped for Amelia.

From foraging wild mussels on the rocky shore to taking in the scenic coastal drive from Cape Town, this luxury small home offers the perfect backdrop for creating lasting memories.
